Shlomo Friedrich was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempting to murder his wife under her mother's house in Tel Aviv.

This is what the panel of judges of the Tel Aviv District Court, headed by Judge Bnei Sagi, decided today (Thursday).
In addition, Friedrich was awarded NIS 150,000 in compensation.

As mentioned, about two and a half years ago, an indictment was filed in the Tel Aviv District Court, accusing Friedrich of attempted murder.
According to the indictment in which he was convicted, the defendant and the complainant had been married for about 22 years, lived separately and conducted divorce proceedings.
In the context of a divorce dispute, the respondent took a taxi from his home in Jerusalem to the building where the complainant lived with her mother in Tel Aviv, equipped with two kitchen knives, about fifteen centimeters long.
At 05:30, when the complainant left the building, the respondent grabbed the complainant in a hugging motion and stabbed her in the neck.

In response, the complainant cried for help and asked him to leave her, however the respondent stabbed the complainant twice more in the chest area, slapping the complainant "How are you surviving? How are you fighting, how much strength do you have to fight, how are you not dead yet?".
Neighbors who heard the complainant's cries shouted at the respondent to stop his actions, but he knocked the complainant to the ground and leaned over her with a knife in his hand.
One of the neighbors went out to the entrance of the building equipped with a knife, shouted at the respondent to leave the complainant, but Frederick continued to lie on the complainant.
The neighbor grabbed the respondent's shirt and pulled it from the complainant, however the respondent lay on the floor with a knife in his hand and began to cut his wrist, and in response, the neighbor took the knife out of his hand.
As a result of the respondent's actions, the complainant sustained three stab wounds, to her neck and chest area, and cuts to her waist, lips and hands.
Following the sentencing in the case of Shlomo Friedrich, Adv. Kinneret Mor Cohen, of the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office (Criminal), who handled the case, said: "The court accepted the prosecution's position and sentenced the defendant to a significant punishment. In the family in general and towards women in particular and this sentence will be another tool in reducing this phenomenon.
"The complainant testified with great courage about what she went through and used in her testimony here also for those women who were murdered by their spouses, and can not make their voices heard. We hope that the sentence, and the messages inherent in it, will help the complainant The cycle of violence and prevent the next disaster. "
Bnei Sagi, who heads the panel of judges, said: "The defendant was convicted of attempted murder. The incident described in the verdict is serious on almost every scale. There is a real importance to attaching a price tag to violence against women. "In this way, the severity of the act is blunted.
Sagi added: "Miraculously, the incident ended as it ended and not thanks to the defendant. The mental injury to the complainant must also be taken into account, the incident is a fault line for her. "
